ADAC Formula Masters
Oschersleben (DEU)
26-28 April 2013

Stéphane Kox (NLD) made her debut in the ADAC Formula Masters series at the Oschersleben Circuit last weekend with the KUG Motorsport team. The weather conditions could basically not have been worse for her first stint in Formula racing.

While the free practice sessions and the first qualifying on Friday took place in springlike weather, the temperatures dropped below the 10-degree Celsius mark with rain on Saturday. Therefore, the second qualifying and the first race took place under cold and wet conditions. The Dutchwoman carefully completed kilometres, trying her best to make herself familiar with the track and the car. There are so many experienced drivers in the grid. And I am not able to keep up with them yet. That is why my position in the field is not a priority for me,” says Stéphane Kox.

She finished her first race in P17 in a grid of 20 drivers and was fifth in the top speed ranking with 197.46 km/h (122.7mph). Stéphane grabbed P14 in the second race on Saturday and P13 in the third one on Sunday.

The race driver is pleased with the weekend: “I really enjoyed taking part and had a lot of fun. I learned a lot and I am already excited about the next races in Spa-Francorchamps. I feel really comfortable in my team and get along well with everybody.
My engineer, Wito van Kuijeren, also taught me a lot. Working with him is just fantastic.”

Now the Dutchwoman will have to work hard for her school leaving examination in two weeks time. She intends to succeed in order to start studying law at university in autumn. “It is important for me personally not to neglect school and to pass my exams. I want to start studying law this year,” continues Stéphane Kox.

The next races of the ADAC Formula Masters will take place at the traditional Spa-Francorchamps Circuit from 11 to 12 May.
