Last weekend Stéphane participated at the first round of the Belgium Karting Championship. At the beginning of this season she decides to switch to Tony Kart again, a very good chassis which she drove 2 years ago already.
After free practise, Stéphane felt quite confident and took this confidence into qualifying. However, she wasn't able to find a slipstream in the quali, which cost her a top 5 classification, and she ended up 12th out of 34 drivers.
In the first heat she drove steady and finished 7th. In the second heat she had to avoid a crash at the start which cost her lots of places. The pace was really good, (3th fastest time of the race) and she managed to drive back to p9.
In the final, she started p12 (measured results from the heats). She had a very good start and was p7 after the first corner. Unfortunately someone hit her after a couple of corners which made her lose her chain. This was the end of the weekend for Stéphane.
Of course she was a bit disappointed because she had some bad luck, but therefor she's quite optimistic about the upcoming races because she really has the feeling that there is more to come!
She wants to thank her sponsor Certina Swiss Watches for their support, her mechanics and her family for their support!
